CREDITORS' RIGHTS
Mr. Piel has represented national financial institutions and community banks in connection with distressed commercial loans. Mr. Piel's experience has allowed him to develop an intuition to determine the best approach to take in order to maximize the return for the client. This includes confessed judgment suits and corresponding procedures for the client’s post-judgment rights, remedies and recourse (i.e., garnishments of property, garnishments of wages and sheriff's sales), as well as foreclosures. Further, Mr. Piel has significant experience in the negotiation and documentation of soft workouts. This includes forbearance agreements and other forms of loan modifications. Mr. Piel also has experience in representing his client's interest in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the case of a debtor instituting bankruptcy proceedings.
